The journey

The journey

Daily life spills onto the streets of Hanoi, between old neighbourhoods, markets, temples and countless places to eat — the starting point for understanding both Vietnam’s history and its rhythm today.

Halong Bay and Ninh Binh offer two sides of the same landscape: limestone islands on the water, then similar formations rising above rice fields and rivers best explored by boat or bicycle.

Hue and Hoi An bring the journey through Central Vietnam — the citadel and royal tombs of the former imperial capital, followed by the old trading town, its countryside and its food.

The Mekong Delta changes the pace again, with rivers and canals shaping everyday life through boats, farms, markets and small communities.

The journey ends in Ho Chi Minh City, fast-moving and constantly changing — a different side of urban Vietnam to close the trip.

WHY THIS JOURNEY WORKS

Why This Journey Works

Vietnam looks like a different country depending on where you stand in it. This route gives north, centre and south enough space to actually feel that shift, rather than reducing the country to its highlight reel.

The Rhythm

Regular changes of setting and pace across a long north-to-south route — water, countryside and smaller communities keeping it varied rather than a race.
