The journey

Old neighbourhoods, markets and food fill the first days in Hanoi, before the route heads to Halong Bay and its limestone islands.

Continue south to Hoi An, where the old trading town, surrounding countryside and Central Vietnamese food set a different pace before crossing into Thailand.

Chiang Mai introduces Northern Thailand through its temples, markets, cuisine and surrounding countryside. From there, Bangkok brings another complete change of scale, with waterways, neighbourhoods and the energy of the capital.

The journey ends at Khao Lak on Thailand’s Andaman coast. Long beaches, easy access to the sea and a relaxed atmosphere give the trip time to stop after two countries.
