Night-market food
Beef noodle soup, oyster omelettes, stinky tofu and bubble tea, which was born here: evenings in Taiwan are spent eating your way down a market street.

Our signature
Another side of Asia: culture, mountains, modern cities and remarkable food.
Taiwan is our speciality. We have spent years building close local relationships across the island, from Taipei’s night markets to the marble canyons of Taroko and the hot springs of the east coast.

High mountains run the length of the island, so forest trails, tea farms and sunrise over the clouds at Alishan are never far from a city.
Temples are busy every day with incense and offerings, and street processions still bring whole neighbourhoods out.
Clean, punctual trains, a high-speed line down the west coast, and a reputation as one of the safest places in Asia to travel.
Each one is a starting point, shaped around you.
The current month is outlined. Conditions shift a little every year.
Best Oct–Dec and Mar–Apr. Plum rains from mid-May to June; hot Jul–Sep, with a typhoon risk that peaks in August. Winters are cool and damp in the north, drier in the south.
Ideal Good Off season
Most international flights arrive at Taoyuan, near Taipei, with some routes into Kaohsiung in the south. The high-speed rail runs down the west coast, and we arrange drivers and trains for the mountains and the east coast.
Many nationalities can enter Taiwan visa-free, and others can apply online. Rules change; our pre-departure pack covers what you need.
Taiwan is compact but mountainous. We usually loop around the island and keep road days short. Some Taroko Gorge trails have been closed since the April 2024 earthquake.
