This policy explains what personal data Belantara Consulting Pte. Ltd. (“Belantara”, “we”) collects through this website and when you plan a journey with us, and what we do with it. We apply Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act and, for travellers in the European Union and the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation.

What we collect

When you send a trip request: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and the details of your trip (destinations, dates or month, duration, number and ages of travellers, budget, travel style and your message).
With that request, where your visit came from: the page you arrived on, the site you came from and, if you followed an ad, the parameters of its link (campaign, Google or Meta click identifiers such as gclid or fbclid), as well as your browser’s language and type. This tells us which ads bring requests.
While you fill in the form, what you type is kept in your browser so it is not lost if the page reloads: nothing reaches us before you send it, and the draft is erased when you close the tab.
When you write to us by email or WhatsApp: the content of the conversation.
Technical data: without your consent, this site sets no advertising or tracking cookies (see Cookies). It counts its visits anonymously (totals per day, landing page and source, with no cookie and no IP address). Our server keeps short technical logs (IP address, pages requested) for security.

Why we use it

To answer your request and design a proposal, on the basis of the steps you ask us to take before any contract.
To follow up on your trip before and during travel.
To know which ads and channels bring requests, and to keep the site secure, on the basis of our legitimate interest.
To measure how our Google and Meta (Facebook, Instagram) ads perform, only if you agree (see Cookies).
To rank requests by priority, with a score computed from their details: it helps the team, it is not an automated decision, and every request is answered by a person.

We never sell your data and we do not send marketing messages unless you ask for them.

Who we share it with

As soon as you send it, your request is shared with our partner travel company, licensed in the destination, which prepares your proposal with us and, if you go ahead, contracts your booking; it is named in your quotation. We also rely on service providers bound by confidentiality for hosting, sending emails, the travel company’s planning software and our team’s working tools (writing, documents): they act only on our behalf, only receive what the task needs and never reuse your data for their own purposes. A member of our team always writes to you.

Where it is processed

In Singapore, where Belantara is established; in the country of your journey, by our partner travel company; and by some service providers outside your country, in particular in the United States for some of our team’s working tools and, if you accept their cookies, for Google and Meta. The site and its data are hosted in the United States, by Namecheap, Inc. (Phoenix, Arizona). Where the GDPR applies, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or, for Google and Meta, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Cookies

The site works without cookies, with one exception: when you choose a language, it remembers it (one cookie, 1 year) to welcome you in that language next time. It may ask you, in a banner, whether we can use advertising cookies (Google, Meta) to see which ads bring our travellers here: declining changes nothing to your visit or your request. Your answer is kept for 6 months in your browser, then the question comes back; the “Cookies” link at the foot of the pages lets you change it at any time.

If you accept:

the Google Ads tag is loaded. Its cookies, kept for 90 days at most, link your visit to the ad you clicked, and it tells Google (Google Ireland Limited) when a trip request is sent or WhatsApp is tapped. We do not use it to show you personalised ads;
the Meta pixel is loaded. Its cookies, kept for 90 days at most, link your visit to the Facebook or Instagram ad you clicked, and it tells Meta (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) when a trip request is sent or WhatsApp is tapped. At the same moment, our server also reports the request to Meta (Conversions API): its reference, the IP address and browser used, your email address and phone number in hashed form (a code that cannot be read back, but that Meta can match with Facebook and Instagram accounts), never your name or the details of your trip. Meta uses it to measure and improve the delivery of our ads; we do not build audiences to retarget you;
where your visit came from is kept for 90 days in your browser, so that a request sent on a later visit still counts for the right ad;
if your request leads to a booking, we report it to Google Ads: the click identifier, the date, the value of the sale for Belantara and the request’s reference, never your name or contact details.

If you decline later, Google’s and Meta’s cookies on this site are deleted, and so is the source kept in your browser.

How long we keep it

Trip requests that do not lead to a booking are deleted from our request tracking tool 24 months after our last exchange. Data linked to a booking is kept as long as needed for the journey and for our legal and accounting obligations.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, or receive a copy of it. Write to contact@gobelantara.com; we reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your data protection authority.
