Cool and dry Nov–Feb; very hot Mar–May, with smoky haze over the north in March and April; rains Jun–Oct, heaviest in September.
Calm seas and sunshine Nov–Apr; the south-west monsoon brings rough seas and heavy rain May–Oct, and some boat trips are suspended.
Good from January to August, and the natural choice from May, when the Andaman side is wet. The heaviest rain falls Oct–Dec, easing in late December.
